Our Laboratory and Services in Brooklyn, New York

Staffed by experienced structural engineers, mechanical engineers, laboratory technicians, and metallurgical technicians, our 13,000-square-foot Brooklyn laboratory serves the Northeast region, including New York, Connecticut, Massachusetts, and surrounding states. We provide advanced engineering, failure analysis, nondestructive engineering, materials engineering, and comprehensive testing services to manufacturers, consultants, contractors, architects, and building owners. As an independent third-party consultant, our team delivers rigorous performance testing for exterior wall systems and assemblies, including windows, doors, storefronts, skylights, and curtain walls. We also conduct testing for individual products and manufactured components, supporting quality assurance, code compliance, and overall performance validation.

Our Brooklyn laboratory maintains a robust QA/QC program compliant with 10 CFR 50 Appendix B, ASME NQA-1-2008/2009a, and 10 CFR Part 830, Subpart A. We are also an American Welding Society (AWS) Accredited Test Facility with ASNT Level II and Level III inspectors on staff.

Formerly operated by Lucius Pitkin, Inc. (LPI), a nationally recognized consulting firm specializing in fitness-for-service evaluations, failure analysis, nondestructive testing, and metallurgical engineering, the Brooklyn laboratory became part of Vidaris in 2013 and joined SOCOTEC following its acquisition of Vidaris in 2019.
